Solutions to Enhance Transparency in Injection Molded Transparent Plastic Parts

injection mould 1

In the process of injection molding transparent plastic parts, insufficient transparency may occur due to reasons such as low material temperature, poorly dried raw materials, melt decomposition, uneven mold temperature, or poor mold surface polish, which affects the use of the plastic parts.

The reasons for insufficient transparency are poor melt plasticization or low material temperature, melt overheating decomposition, insufficient drying of raw materials, too low mold temperature or uneven mold temperature, insufficient polish of the mold surface, and too high mold temperature for crystalline plastics (complete crystallization), or the use of mold release agents or the presence of water and stains on the mold.

The methods to improve insufficient transparency are: increase the melt temperature; improve the quality of melt plasticization; appropriately reduce the melt temperature to prevent melt decomposition; thoroughly dry raw materials; increase the mold temperature or improve the uniformity of the mold temperature; polish the mold or use an electroplated mold to enhance the mold’s smoothness; lower the mold temperature, speed up cooling (to control the degree of crystallinity); avoid using mold release agents, or clean any water and stains inside the mold.

At Ningbo Chenshen Plastic, we understand that the clarity of transparent plastic parts is paramount for our clients. Our expert team employs state-of-the-art techniques and meticulously monitors each phase of the production process to ensure the highest level of transparency.
